When Real Estate Plotters Planned Out Denver / reblog from Smithsonian Magazine

When Real Estate Plotters Planned Out Denver | History & Archaeology | Smithsonian Magazine.

Hover the magnifying glass over the map of today’s Denver to see the  1879 version I have been referencing. We can see how the residential areas of La Alma/Lincoln Park was originally subdivided into Hunt’s Addition, Smith’s, Titus, a few other others.  Old street names are also illustrated, such as Capital Ave,  and Moose, Bear, Deer, and Buffalo Streets.  Be sure you read the despcription below the map, it highlights the time period I have been trying to learn more about,  between 1870 to 1900, when the majority of the homes here were built. Hope you have fun with it.
